Jerrod Hull Motorsports
June 1, 2005
Chalk up another win on the season for the Jerrod Hull Motorsports team as they made weekly ventures to Jacksonville, Illinois and Farmington, Missouri, and added a special event at New Florence, Missouri. Jerrod piloted his new Avenger mount fitted with Hoosier racing tires and Weld Wheels to a fantastic run at Jacksonville on Friday for the weekly show. After finishing 3rd in the dash, he started inside row 2 of the feature and made his way to the front and held on for his 3rd win at the venue and 5th on the year. Saturdays’ event would prove to be a bit harder as the team drew bad and got shuffled into a strong field in his heat race but still managed a 3rd place finish in the heat. After starting toward the back of the field for the feature, Jerrod would power his D&T Carpets/Ozarc Gas/Webb Racing/Hampton&Webb/Studio One Photography/Simpson Avenger up to a finish of 6th, the lowest finish since a DNF early in the season.
Sunday the team ventured to New Florence, Missouri for a first ever event. Jerrod took the checkers in his heat race on the fast high-banked bullring track and started and finished 3rd in a “follow-the-leader” affair. The upcoming week finds Jerrod parking the familiar #12 car and once again reuniting with Rich DeReu, Scott Bonar, and the 50 car for a pair of Sprint Invader shows at Peoria, Illinois, and Memphis, Missouri. “I’m looking forward to driving the 50 car, Scotty (Bonar) knows how to tune that car right and working with Rich again is awesome. I’m excited about getting to race at Peoria again, the last time I ran there was back in 1996 with the ASCS, it was a fun little track. Memphis is the one that 'got away' from me a few years ago, I ran 2nd to (Terry) McCarl, and would love to get a victory there for the 50 team.”
