Jerrod Hull Motorsports
June 28, 2005
It was a weekend full of top-three finishes for Jerrod Hull Motorsports! With a lowest finish of 3rd, the team hauled the D&T Carpets/Ozarc Gas/Webb Racing/Hampton & Webb/Midland Performance/Studio One Photography Avenger to Jacksonville, IL for a double-header and then made their way to Lake Ozarks Speedway.
Friday night’s action found Hull and his Avenger fitted with Weld Wheels and Hoosier tires in victory lane for the first feature despite a broken lifter. For the second feature, Hull and team switched from the ailing 410 to their new 360 power plant and the #12 car was pushing towards first when a front wing-post let go but Hull pushed through the obstacle and managed to maintain a 3rd-place finish.
Saturday night’s 360 action was as hot as the Missouri evening. Hull piloted the Avenger from a 5th-place starting spot to take the lead early on the first circuit through turns 1 and 2. Hull had a straightaway advantage over the field until caution flags started waving. The track slipped away from Hull’s preferred path in the final laps with the cars bunched up and he got shuffled back, but still managed a strong 2nd-place finish.
“This new (360) motor and the Avenger are working great together," Jerrod said. "We are looking to add additional shows and some special events to our schedule, right now we are going to continue to take it week by week as we get more familiar with being able to run more shows.”
Hull will be in Sprint Invader action on Wednesday night in Donnellson, Iowa with Rich DeReu and Scott Bonar, and have an open weekend.
