Jerrod Hull Motorsports
June 30, 2005
Hull takes the Ideal Ready Mix Sprint Invaders Checkers at Lee County Speedway. Jerrod Hull parked the Rich DeReu owned/Scott Bonar wrenched Midland Performance/Cernovich’s/Rodger Wagner Construction/Midland Sign Solutions/Newberry Mow and Snow/ Avenger 50 car in the SIA winners circle for the third time on the season. Other venues the team has taken home the hardware were Jacksonville, Illinois, and Peoria, Illinois.
The evening wasn’t without its share of problems as the 50 car got tangled on the first lap of the Shake-Up Dash and continued the 6-lap race without the use of the front wing. Due to the SIA’s unique dash program, Hull started on the pole after finishing 6th when John Schulz won and drew the #2 pill. Jerrod lead most of the feature until he started to explore different lines around the speedway; but in dramatic fashion Hull and the 50 found the rubber coming out of turn 2 and pushed the machine across the start/finish with John Schulz and Jesse Giannetto so close coming out of turn 4 of the final lap that some fans were left wondering who won as Hull checked up and Schulz and Giannetto spun for their positions.
“Anytime you can come in here and take home first place with the Invaders, it’s just awesome," Jerrod said. " I’m fortunate to have a guy like Scott Bonar and the rest of the crew put together such a competitive car. It was great racing (John) Schulz and Jesse (Giannetto) there at the end, they both are hard drivers. These Avenger chassis are really working for me this year. It’s good to be able to drive mine and then jump into the 50 with a similar feel.”
Product support for the Rich DeReu #50 Avenger comes from HRP Wings, Pro Shocks, and B&B Oval Track. |
