July 18, 2005

Coming off of his 11th win of the season, Jerrod Hull packed up his D&T Carpets/Ozarc Gas/Hampton & Webb Architects/Midland Performance/Studio One/Webb Racing Avenger #12 car and headed to the familiar grounds at Jacksonville, IL on Friday, July 15. Hull found the track a little racier than normal but was still able to finish 2nd in his heat, 3rd in the dash, and motor to a runner-up spot come feature time.

“They put some extra water on the track right before the feature," he said, "so I knew I was going to have to get up on the wheel a little more and try to get the Avenger up to the front.  It was no picnic, but the guys gave me another quick car and the Hoosier tires stuck where I wanted them to.”

Saturday’s action at Farmington, MO was won by Mother Nature, as the team had just backed the car out of the trailer and began making a few adjustments when the rains started.

This week will find Hull running with Rich DeReu and the Ideal Ready Mix Sprint Invaders on Tuesday, July 19, at Scotland County Speedway, a place where Jerrod would love to mark his twelfth win on the season. “A few years ago (2003)," he noted, "I was leading the race for Rich and Scott, and got passed by Terry McCarl.  That is one place I would love to get a win at.”

This weekend will bring the Jacksonville, IL point leader back to his home track on Friday, and then compete against the All-Stars at Farmington, MO.  For additional information about Jerrod and his trek of the Midwest, logon to www.jerrodhullmotorsports.com.
