"What a wild weekend!" Those were Jerrod's reflections on a weekend that saw him get wrecked out of a feature and then run top 10 with the All-Stars. "I have to thank my crew for working so hard to get the #12 car back in shape and ready to roll. I am fortunate to have a great team behind me that knows how to get things done and stay competitive."
Jerrod took the D&T Carpets/Ozark Gas/Webb Racing/Hampton & Webb/Midland Performance/Studio One Photography Avenger to Jacksonville, IL on Friday night for the weekly program but a racing indcident knocked him out of competition while running in the top 5 and making strides on the leader.
Jerrod and his band of Hullheads worked hard to put the car back together and head to Farmington, MO for the All Star show. After qualifying 14th for the feature in a field of local regulars and the invading All-Stars, Jerrod motored his way up 6 places to 8th before the track began taking rubber, and the race became a follow-the-leader affair. "About halfway, the bottom came in with a ton of rubber and that was it," Jerrod said. "They could have thrown the checkers right then, for most of us we were done passing. We took a few guys on the high side early on and I thought we had something for later in the race, but it was just one of those track conditions. It's a part of racing."
This week, Hull plans to run with Rich DeReu and Scott Bonar with the Sprint Invaders, where he already has 5 wins on the season. "I love going to Burlington, it's kind of the birthplace and the home of the 50-car. Getting a win there is something special to Rich and Scott. Scott runs Midland Performance with Matt [Rogerson] down the road from the track, and the 50-car first took flight at that facility with Kevin Doty behind the wheel."
